Biden Orders Mask Mandate Prolonged for Americans

( – The CDC will extend the mask mandates for all public transportation again, citing a rise in cases of COVID-19. In a statement, the agency said it needs to assess the ramifications of the spike and determine whether or not it will result in an increase in severe symptoms and put further strain on healthcare systems. This is the second time the mandate was extended since March when mask mandates for a vast majority of US counties finally went away.

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki declined to say if the mandate will be extended again, saying she doesn’t want to make that prediction. This extension is for 15 days from the previous expiration date, which will bring the mandate into May.

Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) tweeted his disdain for the policy, calling mask-wearing ineffective and calling for Americans to vote the party in power out.

The move comes at the same time the Biden administration will do away with Title 42. Former President Donald Trump instituted the initiative, which allowed federal agencies to return refugees to their home countries for fear of spreading the coronavirus. Apparently, Biden’s CDC isn’t as concerned with immigrants running around without any restrictions, but they’re extremely worried about masks on airplanes.
