( – When COVID-19 shutdowns began, Americans were unable to spend their money at restaurants, hotels, or for travel. But, as the nation opens up, most of that spending has come back strong. Yet, President Biden has put forward an enormous future budget that has baffled many economic authorities.

On Thursday, June 3, former Congressional Budget Office (CBO) director and American Action Forum president Douglas Holtz-Eakin spoke on Fox News’ “Mornings with Maria” about Biden’s $6-trillion budget for the 2022 fiscal year. He noted it would be the largest amount of government spending since World War II.

Holtz-Eakin declared that “the economy is coming back just fine” and that makes Biden’s enormous spending plan a “mystery” that “doesn’t add up.” Holtz-Eakin’s full interview is shown here:

Holtz-Eakin understood Biden’s big picture with the current proposal: to make our government larger and force more people to rely on it.
