China Now Claims US Should Be Investigated for Virus Outbreaks

( – For over a year and a half, China has been keeping other nations at arm’s length while allowing coronavirus to spread around the world. It’s been unwilling to allow the World Health Organization (WHO) and other third-party groups to carry out thorough investigations into the origins of the virus. Now, the Communist country is trying to flip the script by demanding the United States be investigated as the potential spot where COVID-19 first began.

On Monday, July 19, China’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian took aim at the WHO, saying its findings surrounding the origin of COVID-19 were “inconsistent with the position of the Chinese side.” He urged the WHO to investigate other member states, including the US’ Fort Detrick in Frederick, Maryland.

Senator Tom Cotton (R-AK) spoke with Fox News about the absurd accusation, reiterating his year-old stance that coronavirus most likely originated in the Wuhan lab:

While Fort Detrick does have a less than perfect past, asserting that COVID-19 started in the US Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID) found on the base is simply a way for China to deflect attention off of itself and hide the truth from the world. Hopefully, nobody falls for this ridiculous ruse and nations continue to pressure China to share exactly how coronavirus first began.
