Democrat Governor Flips, Drops Mandate Requests

( – At the end of January, New York Supreme Court Judge Thomas Rademaker ruled Governor Kathy Hochul (D) doesn’t have the authority to implement statewide mask mandates. The governor’s office vowed to appeal the decision. Two weeks later, the Democrat announced she is going to abide by the court’s decision.

Hochul dropped the strict indoor mask mandate that required state residents to cover their faces while indoors. She also rescinded the vaccine requirement that forced many businesses to ask customers for proof they’d received the shots. The mask mandate was set to expire, which would have forced Hochul to renew it, and the judge already made it clear that was beyond the scope of her powers.

Judge Rademaker also ruled the mask mandates for schools wasn’t within Hochul’s power to order, but she has not lifted those. It expires in two weeks, and it’s unclear if she will try to keep it in place.

Other Democratic lawmakers across the country are lifting the draconian mask mandates in their states, as well. California Governor Gavin Newsom announced he was lifting his, but only for those who received the jab. He’s still ostracizing unvaccinated California residents by forcing them to cover their faces. Delaware, Connecticut, Oregon, and New Jersey have also announced some of the mandates in those states will be lifted.

Do you think it’s time to get rid of all COVID-19 mandates?
