(ConservativeInsider.org) – As Democrats constantly propose new ways to spend American taxpayers’ money, they’re seeking just as many new ways to collect it. The Left’s latest stunt to deepen the federal government’s pockets would allow the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) access to bank accounts of average Americans in an attempt to crackdown on tax evasion.
On Tuesday, October 19, the head of the Senate Finance Committee Ron Wyden (D-OR) and Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) unveiled a proposal that would allow the IRS to spy on bank accounts with at least $10,000 in transactions every year. This number is larger than their original $600 proposal, although most Conservatives see little difference between the two in the grand scheme of things.
Florida’s Chief Financial Officer and State Fire Marshal Jimmy Patronis shared his thoughts about the plan on Twitter:
Looks like the IRS is willing to move their reporting requirement from a $600 to $10K threshold. Ok then. If the Biden Administration thinks moving the reporting threshold by a few thousand dollars changes anything – then he really is disconnected from normal people. (1/6)🧵

Many conservative attorneys spoke out against the plan, emphasizing that it’s against “the well-founded constitutional principles against illegal searches and seizures.” However, Democrats continue to push this new type of overreach that would allegedly allow them to catch rich tax evaders. In reality, it would greatly increase the ability of the IRS to spy on the lives and bank accounts of ordinary Americans.
