(ConservativeInsider.org) – In a rare break from party lines, Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) defended Senators Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Josh Hawley (R-MO) in their objections to Electoral College results from certain states. Rather than criticizing the freedom of speech they’re guaranteed by our Constitution like so many in her party are doing, she instead chose to stand with the Bill of Rights and affirm everyone’s right to freedom of speech.
On Tuesday, January 19, Feinstein was asked her opinion about the Republicans’ objections to the election results. She responded with praise that Congress allows the “highest-level dialogue” in democracy. She was thankful that every lawmaker is allowed to voice his or her opinion during this time.
Reporter Erik Wasson shared more of Feinstein’s remarks:
Dem @SenFeinstein doesn’t appear on board with punishing @SenTedCruz or @HawleyMO for role in challenging electoral college. “I think the Senate is a place of freedom, and people come here to speak their peace”

This bold move from Feinstein is a breath of fresh air from a Democrat when so many on the Left seem to be pushing Constitutional rights by the wayside. Hopefully, more lawmakers can take note of her civility towards Cruz and Hawley, who fought for election integrity when it was under attack.
