Dozens of BLM Rioters Arrested in New York City

Multiple BLM Rioters Arrested in New York City

( – Across the United States, many peaceful demonstrations commemorated Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday, January 18. However, in New York City, a march turned ugly as protestors refused to comply with police orders to clear the roadway.

The Black Liberation March began at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn and crossed the Brooklyn Bridge. Upon arriving in Manhattan, the demonstrators were ordered to clear the roadway, but most people refused, some violently. So, police officers arrested nearly 30 rioters, and over 10 officers ended the night with injuries.

NYPD Commissioner Dermot Shea shared more about Monday’s arrests:

While mainstream media continues to allege that Trump supporters are the ones instigating violence this week, this story combats that narrative. Rather than promoting the peace that Martin Luther King Jr. fought for, these BLM rioters continue to sow discord in our nation. We must encourage all citizens to protest peacefully, as that truly is how changes are made.
