(ConservativeInsider.org) – The Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) is using its vast resources to target supporters of former President Donald Trump, sometimes called MAGA loyalists by creating a “distinct category” of domestic terrorists based on their political views.
After the events of Jan. 6, 2021, the FBI changed the definition of AGAAVE (“anti-government, anti-authority violent extremism”) from people pushing an ideological agenda to those attempting to push “a political or social agenda.” This allows the FBI to classify Trump supporters as potential domestic terrorists. While FBI agents are eager to note that the language is non-partisan, they are aware that the new designation applies almost entirely to MAGA supporters.
One FBI agent said if Democrats and leftists resorted to violence, they would certainly be included in the new AGAAVE definition, which is ironic given the property damage and violence caused by Antifa and leftists during the 2020 Black Lives Matter rallies.
While the FBI is required to have evidence to open a full investigation into someone, they are not required to have any solid evidence in order to open an “assessment” into someone. According to Newsweek, the FBI conducted over 5,500 “assessments” in 2021, which is 10 times as many as they did in 2017 and 50 times as many as they conducted in 2013.
A current FBI official, who spoke to media outlets anonymously, said that the FBI is in an “impossible position,” because while they want to monitor people opposed to the current administration, they cannot infringe upon the First Amendment rights of citizens to speak out and criticize their government. By targeting Trump and MAGA supporters, they are creating their own enemies and a self-fulfilling prophecy.
Republicans in Congress have been complaining that the Biden administration is “weaponizing” intelligence agencies against the right wing. While Democrats and the current administration deny this, President Biden has openly called former President Trump and his supporters “a threat to the very soul of this country” on social media.
