(ConservativeInsider.org) – Although the American Rescue Plan was signed back in March, it has taken over two months for the IRS to get payments out to Americans. Even after their latest batch of checks, there are still citizens waiting for their predicted payouts.
On Wednesday, May 12, the IRS issued a press release detailing that 960,000 checks, direct deposits, and prepaid debit cards were sent to Americans, totaling over $1.8 billion. The payments were made mostly to those whose previous stimulus checks were based on outdated tax returns. These Americans were now eligible for a greater benefit after filing their 2020 return for a variety of reasons, such as adding a dependent.
News Station KARE 11 spread the good news on Twitter:
Nearly 1 million more stimulus payments from the passage of the American Rescue Plan COVID relief bill in March went out Wednesday. They include almost a half-million "plus-up" payments, the IRS said. https://t.co/MxWqGQvifd

The IRS still has work to do, though. It’ll continue sending payments as additional people file their tax returns or show they qualify for more money for whatever reason. So, as Americans finish filing their taxes, many low and middle-income earners can expect to have their final stimulus checks in the mail by the end of the month if they haven’t been received already.
