(ConservativeInsider.org) – Leading up to Virginia’s gubernatorial race, no one could predict whether Democratic candidate Terry McAuliffe or Republican candidate Glenn Youngkin would win. However, Vice President Kamala Harris and many others admitted the race could easily reflect the results of the 2022 and 2024 elections. Now, Harris may be regretting her words.
While campaigning for McAuliffe, Harris tried to muster up support for the former governor by highlighting how Virginia’s election stood as a “bellwether” for America’s political climate in future elections. Obviously, the vice president hoped McAuliffe would win, but the latest results show he lost by two to three percentage points.
School choice advocate Hamlet Garcia shared Harris’ initial prediction on Twitter:
#Kamala you nailed it

Youngkin’s win in Virginia excited many GOP lawmakers, as it shows Americans with conservative values are willing to fight for their country and families at the polls in the coming years. While the Republican party cannot take this win for granted, it certainly is a much-welcomed boost after watching the Democratic “trifecta” fumble through its job the past few months.
Hopefully, GOP lawmakers will take notice of Youngkin’s campaign and how he was able to rally so many supporters in a swing state. From here, other Republicans will build their own campaigns using this excitement as they try to take back Congress in 2022 and the White House in 2024.
