(ConservativeInsider.org) – The holidays can bring out both the best and worst in people. President Donald Trump proudly proclaimed “Merry Christmas” to supporters at a rally in Georgia on Saturday, December 5. Clearly put off by this, Michigan’s Attorney General Dana Nessel attacked the President’s word choice in a now-deleted tweet.
After Trump’s rally, Nessel tweeted that her son “looked devastated” when a store employee wished them both a “Merry Christmas.” She said it was the first time this had happened and was glad that Joe Biden understands that not all Americans celebrate Christmas.
Nessel quickly deleted the tweet and replaced it with this:
Saying “Happy Holidays” this time of year does not denigrate Christianity. It simply acknowledges and respects the great diversity of our nation and includes each and everyone of us who call ourselves proud Americans.

Nessel made her disapproval of free speech and her desire to minimize Christianity clear this week. She put her inability to accept other people’s beliefs and well-wishes on display. This only added to her growing anti-Trump remarks; back in August, she compared President Trump to Adolf Hitler during Michigan’s virtual nominating convention.
Nessel may get easily offended by a simple phrase, but Americans should feel free to wish each other well this season, as both our right to free speech and freedom of religion are protected in the Constitution. So, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
