(ConservativeInsider.org) – Iran’s nuclear capabilities poses threats to our national security, incites violence, and sponsors anti-Semitism. Thankfully, President Donald Trump continues to keep Iran under tight sanctions to keep the peace. To help the fight, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced the latest ally in the fight against terror.
On Wednesday, October 14, Pompeo joined Saudi foreign minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud to announce a “mutual commitment to countering Iranian malign activity.” Pompeo’s excitement for the partnership is clear:
Pleased to launch the U.S.-Saudi Strategic Dialogue in Washington with Saudi Foreign Minister @FaisalbinFarhan. We look forward to reinforcing our enduring partnership by expanding our defense and energy cooperation and increasing cultural and educational exchanges. pic.twitter.com/ZMcfAHCZsk

Talks will continue between the two countries. Topics include normalizing Saudi Arabia’s relationship with Israel, allowing “free expression and peaceful activism”, and a new US Embassy in Riyadh, among others.
As the United States builds on relations with Saudi Arabia, our government must balance the need for national security with our desire to see justice, free expression, and healthy economies around the world. Hopefully, by carefully walking out these new steps, both of our countries can benefit from this renewed and mutually beneficial friendship.
