(ConservativeInsider.org) – Since her election to the US House of Representatives in 2019, Americans recognize Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) for her outspoken opinions, passionate Twitter and Instagram rants, and radical policies. Unseating such a popular left-wing celebrity will be difficult, but the GOP just introduced the first real candidate who could defeat the “Squad” leader in the 2022 midterm election.
On Wednesday, September 29, conservative Desi Cuellar released his first video ad in his campaign to defeat AOC in New York’s 14th district, which represents the Queens and the Bronx. Cuellar details his low-income New York childhood in the ad, highlighting how his family fled socialist Cuba in search of a better life in America. Over the years, he’s been a bartender, a homeless man, and a soldier in the National Guard. Desi just left his military service to run for the AOC’s spot in Congress.
Cuellar shared his campaign ad on Twitter:
My family fled Cuba to escape socialism.
I was born & raised in Queens.
As a New Yorker, I'm sick and tired of seeing AOC use our city as a launching pad for her socialist agenda.
I'm running for Congress in NY-14 to stop her.

Not surprisingly, the GOP needs a strong candidate who can relate to New Yorkers and their desire for progress in order to defeat AOC. As of now, Cuellar has a decent shot. Reports show he’s already raised $60,000 for his campaign and met with multiple right-wing leaders from the area. Hopefully, momentum for Cuellar continues to build as the GOP tries to take down AOC.
