(ConservativeInsider.org) – It’s no surprise that Russian President Vladimir Putin is testing President Joe Biden again. Since Biden called Putin a “killer” back in March, our two nations have had difficulty seeing eye to eye. Now, Putin is pressuring our president to lift sanctions on space-related products or his nation will pull out of the International Space Station (ISS).
On Monday, June 7, Dmitry Rogozin, the head of Russia’s space agency, admitted that the country is missing “one specific microchip set” that they’ve been barred from purchasing because of US sanctions. He continued on to say the Russians would pull out of the ISS if sanctions were not repealed.
The Hill shared more of Rogozin’s threats:
“Either we work together, in which case the sanctions are lifted immediately, or we will not work together and we will deploy our own station,” Roscosmos Director General Dmitry Rogozin said. https://t.co/SOTeum8HYz

NASA hopes to continue using the ISS until 2030 or beyond alongside the Russians, but that’s now in jeopardy. If Biden stands his ground and Russia holds fast to their threat, this could spark a new space race. As we watch this play out, we must hope our president remains strong, especially as he heads to meet with Putin next week in Geneva.
