Ramaswamy Sends NBC Host into Meltdown Mode

(ConservativeInsider.org) – Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy and NBC reporter Dasha Burns had a heated discussion about white supremacy during an interview that has sent liberals into a tizzy.

Ramaswamy, the son of two Indian immigrants, has repeatedly stated that he believes claims of America being a “white supremacist nation” are unfounded and overblown. Burns, a white woman, tried to bring up individual instances of violence to support her claim that America is a white supremacist country, which Ramaswamy pushed back against. While he called “invidious racial discrimination” and violence wrong, he said it does not mean America is a white supremacist nation.

Burns tried to bring up statistics from the Anti-Defamation League that claim that white supremacist activity is up by 38% in recent years, but Ramaswamy said the ADL is not a “particularly credible source” due to their history of cherry-picking information. Burns asked who we should look to for data on such issues, to which Ramaswamy replied that we should check federal law enforcement data. Burns claimed that federal data shows that hate crimes increased by 12% between 2020 and 2021, which Ramaswamy refuted by saying that the term “hate crime” is a political judgment.

Ramaswamy also brought up that while liberals love talking about “Black Lives Matter,” they ignore black-on-black crime, which is the primary source of the loss of black lives. Burns, motivated as ever to show up Ramaswamy, asked if we are supposed to “ignore white supremacist hate crimes.” Ramaswamy replied that we shouldn’t ignore any crimes, but that only crimes that fit the media narrative of white supremacy are being reported.

Ramaswamy continued that while racism has been a big problem in American history, things are getting better, and we are getting closer to the “promised land” that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr spoke about. The candidate said that the obsession the left has with “white guilt” and “systemic racism” is creating new waves of racism. He believes the left is creating “artificial division,” and if we stop focusing on “white supremacy,” things will get better for people of all races.
