Rick Santorum Reveals Why He Was Really Fired From CNN

(ConservativeInsider.org) – When someone is fired from a job, they’re often given a simple explanation and sent on their way. However, that usually leaves the person wondering what was left unsaid, pondering over other probable reasons for their departure. Former Senator and television host Rick Santorum was in this exact situation recently after being fired from CNN, although he suspects the true reason is that President Donald Trump is no longer in office.

On Saturday, June 19, Santorum spoke with the Washington Examiner during the Western Conservative Summit about his time with CNN. He believes he was initially hired in 2017 because he was “someone who conservatives knew and respected saying things critical of Trump.”

The official explanation for Santorum’s release was that it was a punishment for comments he made about Native American culture, which he later said he “misspoke” about. However, he declared that the left-leaning news network “has changed” over the past few years, and without Trump to criticize, CNN didn’t find employing him “worth it” anymore.

Conservative News shared another noteworthy quote from Santorums’ talk:

Santorum claims to be a Republican and has full rights to speculate about why he was fired, but it’s clear he’s trying to blame someone else for his own behavior through this interview. Perhaps rather than attacking an employer that Republicans know is notoriously offbase, Santorum should accept his current stance and move on to the next gig.
