Rush Limbaugh Says Conservative States Are “Trending Toward Secession”

Rush Limbaugh Says Conservative States Are

( – Nearly every American can sense the political divide in our nation. Social media has exacerbated the differences between Conservatives and Liberals, and many people are beginning to wonder if the two groups will be able to find common ground and move our nation forward.

Conservative radio personality Rush Limbaugh is unsure if Americans will be able to meet in the middle.

Is America Trending Towards Secession?

On Wednesday, December 9, Limbaugh spoke with a citizen from Shelbyville, Kentucky, about the differences of opinion in our nation. During the radio program, Limbaugh admitted that he believes our nation is “trending towards secession.”

Limbaugh thinks this because many bloggers, which he could not name at the time of the recording, speak on “how distant and separated” the political parties are from each other. The Washington Examiner shares more from the program:

Limbaugh Clarifies His Comments

While some interpreted Limbaugh’s comments as a call to succeed, he later clarified that he “did not and would not advocate for secession.” Rather, he’s simply addressing what so many citizens are feeling: political differences that seem to be tearing families and neighbors apart.

It’s vital to remember the legal precedent for succession as well, shared by the late Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia:

These comments come when 18 states have joined Texas in a lawsuit against 4 other states to protect election integrity. While this move is not anywhere near a secession, the lawsuit does show a clear separation of thought between red and blue.

Americans Must Come Together

While Americans are still reeling from the vicious coronavirus and the troublesome presidential election, there’s one thing we all must agree on if our nation is to continue to be the greatest country in the world:

We must ensure each other’s rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Every citizens’ commitment to these core values is how we will move forward together.
