The Term “China Virus” Officially Banned by Biden

The Term

( – Former President Donald Trump’s tough-on-China stance kept the Communist country on its toes. However, Joe Biden is quickly running back towards friendship with the East Asian country with his latest executive order. Under the guise of “advancing inclusion,” President Biden has banned the term “China Virus” from use by the federal government.

On January 26, Biden signed the “Memorandum Condemning and Combating Racism, Xenophobia, and Intolerance Against Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in the United States.” The order’s declared purpose is to protect Americans with ties to Asia and the Pacific Islands from discrimination by condemning the use of words that could be construed as insensitive to said groups.

The order ignores the fact that China failed to contain COVID-19 when it first began to spread and continues to push its own origin stories of the virus outside of its borders. Rather than call China out for the millions of deaths it has caused by allowing coronavirus to spread throughout the world, Biden is choosing to silence any talk of China’s part in the pandemic.

US Representative Lauren Boebert (R-CO) questioned just what good this new order would do:

Biden hopes to do away with different references to COVID-19, like the China Virus. As we see him try to rewrite history, we must use our own voices to ensure that we remember just where this virus originated.
