Trump's Unemployment Numbers DROP Significantly - Ahead of Election

( – The success of America’s comeback from the COVID-19 pandemic is often measured through our unemployment numbers. Each week, the Department of Labor (DOL) releases new numbers of unemployment benefits, and this week showed quite an optimistic view of President Donald Trump’s economy as Election Day draws near.

On Thursday, October 22, the DOL report showed only 787,000 new unemployment claims for the week ending October 17. That’s down 55,000 from the previous week. Many economists look at the four-week rolling average, which decreased 21,500 to 811,250. Both of these numbers reflect that jobs are coming back as cities and towns open up again.

Other signs of an optimistic economy are showing, including those reported by the National Association of Realtors:

The White House’s leadership through the COVID-19 pandemic allowed states to manage shutdowns as they see fit. By allowing those who want to open up their economies to do so, unemployment numbers have been slowly improving. This sends a clear message to voters that Trump knows how to run both a business and a government.
