TSA Extends Mask Requirements

TSA Extends Mask Requirements

(ConservativeInsider.org) – As the coronavirus pandemic nears its end, Americans are starting to travel again. But, those hoping this summer would look a bit more normal than the last were severely disappointed this week when the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) extended its mask requirements through the fall.

On Friday, April 30, the TSA announced it would extend the mask requirements that were set to end on May 11 until September 13. These rules will continue to force anyone traveling on public transportation, including buses, trains, and airplanes, to wear a mask even if they’re fully vaccinated. The TSA’s press release came after the CDC updated its mask-wearing guidelines for fully vaccinated people on Tuesday, April 27.

Virginia news station WDBJ7 shared a bit of the politics behind the decision:

Anyone who disobeys the government’s laws could face fines from $250 to $1,500. Understandably, many Americans are equally alarmed and upset by the government enforcing laws on what someone must wear on their face. Now, we must hope our GOP lawmakers can help rein in the power that the federal government has nabbed in the past few months.
