Egyptian President Writes Uplifting Message to ‘Destabilized’ USA

(ConservativeInsider.org) – Following the attempted assassination of former President and current presidential candidate Donald Trump on Saturday, July 13, leaders from around the world have expressed their condemnation of the cowardly act, such as recently re-elected Egyptian president Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

El-Sisi, who was sworn in for his third and final term as president back in April, wrote on social media that he condemns the attack and hopes that the rest of the presidential election in America will be completed without “terrorism, violence, or hatred.” Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who has been a Trump ally in the past, said he and his family were praying for Trump’s “speedy recovery” and hoped the attempt on Trump’s life would not cast a shadow on the “global stability” the US ensures.

Some world leaders who have not been close allies to Trump in the past expressed their condemnation of the attack as well, including Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, who said the State of Palestine always rejects “violence, terrorism, and extremism.”

Nearly all U.S. allies have explicitly condemned the attacks, including the Prime Minister of Australia, Anthony Albanese, who suggested that Americans must “lower the temperature” of the discourse between parties. The President of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, also condemned the attack, calling violence “irrational and inhumane.” Trudeau also chimed in, saying that political violence is unacceptable.

The responses from countries that have traditionally had more friction with the United States were more neutral while still condemning violence. A spokesperson for the Kremlin in Russia said they don’t believe the attack on Trump was coordinated by the Biden administration but did suggest that the way Trump’s opponents speak about him played a part in provoking the attack. Maria Zakharova, who serves in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Russia, stated that the US must take a look at their policies that encourage or incite hatred towards political opponents.
