(ConservativeInsider.org) – Alex Soros, the son of the liberal philanthropist George Soros, announced his support for Kamala Harris’ presidential bid after Joe Biden’s departure from the White House race.
Alex called Harris the most qualified candidate running for the presidency and asked Americans to unite behind her to help her clinch the White House in November.
Due to his father’s influential role in the Democratic party, Alex Soros has managed to rise to fame among the Democratic establishment, particularly after becoming the heir of his father’s fortune. George Soros has donated more than $32 billion to date to the Open Society Foundation, which backs liberal causes.
Alex was supporting Biden before he eventually withdrew his candidacy after facing mounting pressure from the Democratic elite. When Biden announced the end of his campaign, Alex called him a “patriot” and praised him for protecting Americans’ dignity and uniting them. According to Alex, Biden achieved more in his four years compared to what most presidents could dream of achieving in their eight-year tenure.
Meanwhile, Elon Musk, who recently made headlines for committing to donate $45 million a month to the Trump campaign, sarcastically thanked Alex Soros for backing Harris and telling the world about their “next puppet.”
Harris has also been endorsed by other influential Democrats, including Nancy Pelosi, Bill and Hillary Clinton, prominent governors who were once viewed as the potential replacement of Biden, and multiple progressive lawmakers like AOC, Ilhan Omar, and Cori Bush.
However, she did not immediately win the backing of former president Barack Obama, who instead wished for an “outstanding nominee” to emerge after the due political process.
Harris also won the backing of more than enough delegates on the first full day of his campaign, and with no prominent rival emerging to challenge her, her Democratic presidential nomination is all but certain.
She also raised more than $81 million in donations within the first 24 hours following Biden’s dropout, the most any political candidate has ever collected in a single day.
