(ConservativeInsider.org) – House Republicans, led by the chairman of the House Oversight and Accountability Committee, James Comer, are considering bringing criminal charges against the former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), Dr. Fauci.
During his congressional hearing, Fauci engaged in testy exchanges with multiple House Republicans who blamed him for the suffering of Americans during the pandemic.
Comer suggested that he has never seen anyone in his whole life who has deceived Americans more than Fauci. He noted that Fauci harmed public education and the national economy with his controversial policies during the pandemic.
The conservative lawmaker added that he is finding evidence of criminal wrongdoing against Fauci which will help the country bring him to justice, as his lies proved consequential against Americans.
Fauci is attracting renewed criticism more than a year after his retirement in the wake of the NIH scandal that reveals that he was possibly involved in using personal emails for government communication in order to avoid possible scrutiny of his actions.
A veteran NIH scientist, David Morens, who was the former top aide of Fauci, wrote in a leaked email that he knew how to delete data on personal emails in case of a Freedom of Information Act request and that Fauci also received official communication on his private Gmail.
However, Fauci has now dismissed these concerns and claimed that he has no knowledge of Morens’ actions and that he only helped him in writing papers and played no role in policy making.
Far-right Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene also grilled Dr. Fauci and refused to call him a doctor. She stated that the GOP should start criminal proceedings against him for his actions that pushed humanity into chaos.
Meanwhile, Dr. Fauci claimed that far-right attacks against him, like the ones propagated by Greene, are responsible for death threats against him and his family.
Being the head of an influential House committee, Comer has previously tried to find criminal evidence against Joe Biden with no success.
