John Deere Reverses DEI Policies

(ConservativeInsider.org) – One of America’s largest and oldest agricultural machinery manufacturers, John Deere, announced on Tuesday, July 16th that they are making significant adjustments to their diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) policies.

John Deere posted a statement on social media, explaining that they listen to customer feedback to improve their business practices and relationships with their customers. As a result, they are removing all “socially motivated” messages from their training programs and policies and ending all participation in external cultural awareness events.

Though John Deere said they believe a diverse workforce allows them to meet customer needs and that they will continue to track such information internally, the almost 200-year-old company reiterated that “diversity quotas” and “pronoun identification,” both of which are pushed by the extreme left, have never been company policy.

The announcement from John Deere follows several other major organizations that have recently announced a rollback of their DEI policies, including Tractor Supply Company, Home Depot, Microsoft, Zoom, Tesla, DoorDash, and Wayfair.

Efforts against DEI policies have been growing on social media as of late. Conservative filmmaker and activist Robby Starbuck has been one of the people leading the charge against corporate DEI policies, including a successful campaign against Tractor Supply, who publicly dropped their DEI policies at the end of June.

Starbuck pointed out that the social media campaign against Tractor Supply was the model he would use going forward, which involves sharing publicly available documents from the company to highlight their policies and donations to DEI-related campaigns and encouraging customers to submit their complaints.

Celebrating the victory against John Deere, Starbuck said on social media that every company that has gone “woke” in the last few years is “wondering if they’re next” and that major corporations are “on notice.”

Though it is worth celebrating that John Deere ended their DEI policies, it is worth noting that the company also announced the layoffs of over 600 employees in recent days, as well as plans to move some of their production facilities abroad, leading some to question how committed they are to supporting American values and workers.
