(ConservativeInsider.org) – Democratic Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer advised President Joe Biden to take a cognitive test to silence critics who have been targeting him over concerns about potential cognitive decline and other aging-related issues.
Whitmer shed light on Biden’s poor debate performance, acknowledged that the president was not up to the mark on the debate stage, and claimed that taking a cognitive test “wouldn’t hurt” the president.
The liberal governor also praised Biden and called him a selfless person who has devoted himself to public service. She further added that Americans have a choice to either elect a caring person like Biden or someone like Trump, who has been convicted on 34 felony counts and only cares about himself.
Instead of directing critical resources to deal with the “existential threat” posed by Trump’s presence in the presidential race, Whitmer continued, everyone is unnecessarily talking about Biden’s cognitive abilities.
She further noted that the presidential race is not like a football fantasy game where you can just pick some random people to run for the White House and that Biden has truly earned the Democratic nomination after going through due process.
Whitmer also claimed that Trump has a whole list of bipartisan people, a majority of which are Democrats, that he wants to target after winning the White House.
Her comments came in the wake of the growing consensus among Democrats that Biden should step aside from the presidential race. Besides Democratic supporters and donors, at least nine House Democrats and one liberal Senator, Peter Welch, are urging Biden to call it quits and let someone else, like Vice President Kamala Harris, lead the Democratic presidential ticket for the 2024 elections.
Meanwhile, Biden stated during his latest interview with ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos that he goes through a full “neurological test every day” while serving in the office. The White House has already suggested that Biden aims to stay in the race and lead Democrats to victory in the November elections.
