(ConservativeInsider.org) – Russia has warned the United States against allowing Ukraine to use America’s weapons to attack Russian targets, stating that Washington’s actions can dramatically increase escalation and have “fatal consequences.”
According to Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov, the US is miscalculating Russia’s potential response in the whole conflict, and Ukraine’s attempts to use American weapons in its territory can have dangerous implications.
Recently, the Biden administration and many European countries gave Ukraine a go-ahead to use their weapons to attack Russian targets, which triggered severe backlash from the Kremlin.
The US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, also confirmed this development in a recent press conference, where he revealed that the United States has allowed Ukraine to use American weapons in the region of Kharkiv, where Russian forces are intensifying their operations with every passing day.
Blinken also noted that the US will change its strategy regarding Ukraine according to the rapidly evolving situation in the battlegrounds.
America’s latest permission to Ukraine came after Russia’s offensive in the Kharkiv region, which has been labeled as Putin’s “largest victory” since the onslaught of the conflict.
On May 29, Putin himself warned Biden against allowing Ukraine to use its weapons to target Russian forces, adding that both the US and Russia have equal strategic capabilities and any miscalculation can lead to “serious consequences.”
Ryabkov asked the US officials to carefully analyze Putin’s comments to understand their meaning.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy appreciated Biden and stated that the latest American permission would allow Kyiv to defend its people against Russian aggression.
The change in American stance has also started speculations that Ukraine will be able to use American F-16 jets to target strikes within Russia.
Zelenskyy said that while he is not sure whether the permissions cover the use of fighter jets against Moscow, he added that it is only a matter of time before Kyiv will start using these jets in their counter-assault.
