Trump Supporters Chip In Millions to Help Victims’ Families

(ConservativeInsider.org) – Though former President Donald Trump survived an assassination attempt at a Pennsylvania rally on July 13, several other people were harmed during the attack, and one attendee was killed. GoFundMe created for the victims and their families managed to raise more than $4.5 million in less than 48 hours.

The former president gave his endorsement to the fundraiser and confirmed its authenticity to media outlets. The description of the campaign states that Trump authorized it as a way to donate to those affected by the violence at the rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

Several celebrities and conservative outlets have donated to the fundraiser. Over 50,000 donations were made within 24 hours of the fundraiser’s creation. The CEO of the UFC, Dana White, donated $50,000, singer Kid Rock also donated $50,000, and Ben Shapiro of the Daily Wire donated $15,000. Former GOP presidential candidate, Vivek Ramaswamy, who ran against Trump also donated $30,000, while Trump’s former White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci donated $25,000.

The deceased victim of the rally was identified as Corey Comperatore, a 50-year-old engineer and father of two. According to his wife, Helen, as soon as the sound of gunshots rang out, her husband threw himself on top of his wife and their daughters in order to shield them from danger. Tragically, Comperatore was struck by a bullet and died, but very likely saved the lives of his wife and daughters. Comperatore’s family, neighbors, and colleagues all stated that they were not surprised that the former volunteer firefighter put his life on the line to protect his family, as many said he was always the first to run into a burning building to save others.

Two others were injured during the shooting and are in stable but critical condition. James Copenhaver and David Dutch were identified and taken to the hospital following the attack, and expected to recover.
