RFK Jr. Says Biden Admin’s Censorship Bigger Threat Than Trump

(ConservativeInsider.org) – Robert F. Kennedy Jr, who is campaigning for president as an independent, stated on April 1 that the “greater threat to democracy” among his competitors is President Joe Biden–more than former President Donald Trump.

RFK Jr. is the son of assassinated politician Robert Kennedy and nephew to assassinated President John F. Kennedy, and many see him as the heir to the Kennedy political dynasty since Ted Kennedy died in 2009. Though RFK Jr. initially ran for the Democratic nomination for president, he ultimately announced in October 2023 that he was running as an independent candidate.

In an appearance on CNN’s “OutFront,” Kennedy called Biden a “much worse” threat to democracy due to his usage of federal agencies to censor those who disagree with him politically. Kennedy claimed that Biden is the first president in history to weaponize federal agencies in such a way as to silence political speech from opponents.

Kennedy’s comments follow oral arguments in front of the Supreme Court that allege members of the Biden administration colluded with major technology companies to hide or censor certain types of political speech on social media platforms. The case, Murthy v. Missouri, alleges that major social media companies censored topics that might be considered harmful to the Biden administration, such as information about his son Hunter Biden’s laptop, the efficacy of face masks against respiratory illnesses, and the origins of COVID-19.

Though Kennedy has been critical of Trump, especially his attempts to overthrow the 2020 election results, he stated he believes Biden is a bigger threat to modern democracy. Kennedy highlighted his own suspension from social media in 2021 as evidence for government interference in social media to censor unpopular political speech. Meta, the parent company to Instagram, claimed Kennedy was removed from the platform due to sharing “debunked claims” about vaccines and the pandemic. His account was reinstated in June 2023 after he announced his candidacy for president.
